DC power supply for electric substation

DC power supply is one of the most important and critical parts of an electric substation and is always the main concern for operators and service team. This DC current must supply protection and control relays, PLC systems, etc., thus having a steady and uninterruptible DC power supply minimizes power outages on consumers. Substation equipment needs two Different voltage levels:

• 48V for PLC systems
• 110V for protection and control relays

Besides of the SLA or NiCd batteries which should be sized according to the required backup time, industrial chargers are needed to generate uninterruptible DC power supplies for charging the batteries in appropriate cycles.
